Gli Autori hanno valutato la differenza dei dati elettrogastrografici basali in neonati a digiuno confrontando i nati a termine con i prematuri suddivisi in base alla età gestazionale in prima e dopo la 32ma settimana e in base alla presenza o meno di gemellarità. I dati raccolti consentono di concludere che le differenze riscontrate tra egg dei neonati a termine e dei prematuri sono da riportare ad alcuni fattori di rischio particolari. In effetti al di sopra di 32 settimane di gestazione e in assenza della gemellarità i dati sono sovrapponibili a quelli dei nati a termine.

S-Detect characterization of focal solid breast lesions: a prospective analysis of inter-reader agreement for US BI-RADS descriptors

Background: To assess inter-reader agreement for US BI-RADS descriptors using S-Detect: a computer-guided decision-making software assisting in US morphologic analysis. Methods: 73 solid focal breast lesions (FBLs) (mean size: 15.9 mm) in 73 consecutive women (mean age: 51 years) detected at US were randomly and independently assessed according to the BI-RADS US lexicon, without and with S-Detect, by five independent reviewers. US-guided core-biopsy and 24-month follow-up were considered as standard of reference. Abstract We analyze selected iterated conditionals in the framework of conditional random quantities. We point out that it is instructive to examine Lewis's triviality result, which shows the conditions a conditional must satisfy for its probability to be the conditional probability. In our approach, however, we avoid triviality because the import-export principle is invalid. We then analyze an example of reasoning under partial knowledge where, given a conditional if A then C as information, the probability of A should intuitively increase. Genomic technologies provide background information concerning genome structure in domestic animals. The aim of this work was to investigate the genetic structure and the patterns of linkage disequilibrium (LD) in two Sicilian local cattle breeds, Cinisara and Modicana. Genotypes from animals of Italian Holstein breed were also used to investigate the relationship among breeds. Structure software was used to analyze the genetic structure and assign the individuals to each cluster. A Derivation of the Vlasov-Stokes System for Aerosol Flows from the Kinetic Theory of Binary Gas Mixtures

In this short paper, we formally derive the thin spray equation for a steady Stokes gas, i.e. the equation consists in a coupling between a kinetic (Vlasov type) equation for the dispersed phase and a (steady) Stokes equation for the gas. Our starting point is a system of Boltzmann equations for a binary gas mixture. The derivation follows the procedure already outlined in [Bernard-Desvillettes-Golse-Ricci, arXiv:1608.00422 [math.AP]] where the evolution of the gas is governed by the Navier-Stokes equation.
